The Facts - Cancer Free!

Diagnosis: One quarter-size malignant tumor
Location: Lower lobe of left lung
Treatment: Surgery & Chemotherapy - Successful!
Prognosis: Excellent
Chance of Recurrence: Small
In case you haven't heard, Rhonda has been declared cancer free by her oncologist!!!

Thank you to all the friends and family who have expressed their concern, support, and encouragement. Praise the Lord that Rhonda's tumor was found early. The process of diagnosis and planning treatment went quickly in March, and recovery from surgery progressed smoothly across April. The four months of chemotherapy ended in mid-September. Now, on to recovery from the chemo. The doctor says it may take up to six months for Rhonda to regain her physical strength, so please keep praying!

Thursday

Just a quick note to let everyone know we're alive over here.  I had a stomach virus over the weekend and then gave it to Katie and David.  "Share with one another, share with one another". Kevin is the only one who managed to escape, at least so far, so that job away from home has paid off already.  Thanks to those who brought soup and other nourishment and left it at the front door.  It was pretty sad when, after 6 hours of chemo,  I was the most functional of the 3 of us!

So, crisis over and we're back on our collective feet.  David went back to work today and the kids are still in bed so all is back to normal!

Thanks for your prayers,
Rhonda

I know it meant alot that you were there. Oh my.....Cubs just hit a home run in the 9th to tie the game. Can you talk to the Astros?? They need some inspiration.

  2. Glad to here that everyone is back on their feet. David had mentioned that everyone was sick when Andy dropped the food by. I'm glad that Keven was at least well enough to eat!!

  3. Good morning Rhonda. I hope you are having a good morning. I guess you saw the Astros ended up pulling it out. I am spending the morning with my twins. I need a referees shirt and a whistle. Not alot different than a day with 7th and 8th graders. I have watched alot of baseball highlights this morning. I keep thinking about the story with you and Mr. Dawson with the youth at Yankee Stadium and the ride through the Bronx to the ER. Thanks again for the updates. You are in our prayers!
