The Facts - Cancer Free!

Diagnosis: One quarter-size malignant tumor
Location: Lower lobe of left lung
Treatment: Surgery & Chemotherapy - Successful!
Prognosis: Excellent
Chance of Recurrence: Small
In case you haven't heard, Rhonda has been declared cancer free by her oncologist!!!

Thank you to all the friends and family who have expressed their concern, support, and encouragement. Praise the Lord that Rhonda's tumor was found early. The process of diagnosis and planning treatment went quickly in March, and recovery from surgery progressed smoothly across April. The four months of chemotherapy ended in mid-September. Now, on to recovery from the chemo. The doctor says it may take up to six months for Rhonda to regain her physical strength, so please keep praying!

Wonder Woman Lives!

Yesterday was a long, hot day but well worth it!  I feel amazingly better today and I'm grateful to the two people who donated the blood I received. Apparently I was walking around as white as a sheet and didn't realize it until I "pinked up" overnight.  Even my fingernails look pinker today!  The aches and pains in my joints are gone, too, which is such a relief.

Katie and I left here at 9:45 and finished my transfusions at 4 pm.  She fought the traffic as far as Pearland where we turned off so she could check out the shoe sale at Dillards.  (See, I was already feeling better!)  As we turned into the parking lot my van started making this horrible noise.  To make a long story short, there was a Good Year store behind Dillards and they stayed 45 minutes past closing time to replace my alternator belt which had just finished shredding into pieces.  God was so good to provide what we needed at the right place at the right time. Katie's urge to buy shoes also helped or we would have been sitting on the side of 288 in 100 degree weather!  The shoes she wanted weren't on sale but we finally made it home at 8:30 pm after grabbing something to eat.  Like I said, a long, hot day but worth it.

I feel so much better that I'm going to have to try not to overdo it between now and my next treatment on Tuesday.  It will be a long one so I need to conserve some energy.  We'll see how Wonder Woman handles that!

Love, Rhonda
